Jim Goodman, CMP

Jim Goodman joined the ADA as Managing Vice President of the Division of Conference and Meeting Services in May 2009. He leads the division in the strategic planning, production and execution of all meeting programs and services including the annual meeting, meetings of the Board of Trustees, management of ADA’s Conference Center and contract dining services, and additional member services, such as discounted hotel and car rental programs. In 2013, all Continuing Education presented by the ADA was consolidated within his division, resulting in the new name: Division of Conferences and Continuing Education. With this addition, Mr. Goodman now oversees the business management of ADA Studios and production of all ADA CE focusing on delivering the highest quality CE that is also financially sustainable. Mr. Goodman also serves on the Member Value and Business Development team assisting in generating new ventures for the ADA.
Mr. Goodman was previously at the American Optometric Association (AOA) as director of its Meetings Center, where he oversaw all planning and execution of the Association’s meetings. Prior to joining the AOA, Mr. Goodman served as an account executive for Experient, Inc. (formerly Conferon), where he negotiated and managed meetings for many association and corporate clients. Before Conferon, Mr. Goodman served as a senior level manager at several hotel properties for Winegardner and Hammons, Inc., a hotel management company.
Mr. Goodman holds a B.S. degree in hotel, restaurant, institutional and tourism management from Purdue University and received his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2002. He currently serves on MGM Resorts International Customer Advisory Board, Denver CVB Advisory Board and the Washington, D.C. Advisory Board. He has served on the national board of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Four Seasons Meeting Professional Advisory Council, the Hawaii CVB Advisory Board and the Seattle CVB Advisory Board.
